MANAGEMENT HONOURS RETIREES
… ORGANISES SENDFORTH FOR 2023 TO 2025 SET
Management, 3rd December 2025, organised a Send forth party for the retirees of the Authority from 2023 to 2025. The event, which covered 63 staff, cut across all cadres of officers, from General Managers down.

Before this event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo had expressed dissatisfaction in an earlier forum over the inability of the previous management to organize a send forth for retired staff, some of whom spent over 30 years in the service of the Authority.

Describing it as more of an honour and recognition of their efforts in the service of the agency, the MD quickly granted approval for the clearance of the backlog of all retirees who were not formally sent forth on exit from service.
During his remarks on the occasion, the SSASCGOC President, Comrade Solomon Tule, expressed gratitude to Management for sponsoring the event. In his words, “… I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Management for sponsoring this event, demonstrating their appreciation for the dedication and service of our retirees. Your support is a shining example of the partnership and camaraderie that make our organization great”.

Comrade Tule reminded the retirees that their legacy would continue to inspire and motivate the staff. According to him, … “this day is a testament to your tireless effort and unwavering passion. Your legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us, and your contributions will never be forgotten”.
In his own remarks, the Executive Director, Estate Services, Arc Ezekiel Nya Etok, applauded the Managing Director for thinking it wise to honour the Authority’s retirees. The move, he said, would motivate the serving staff, who all look forward to a day like this, to be honoured.

In his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo described the event as special to him. In his words, “This event is special to me because of my strong belief in staff welfarism. I found it unacceptable on learning that staff who had laboured for the Authority, some of whom I met, were not honoured on their exit from the services of this agency. This made me instruct that this event be organized to honour every one of you today”.

Hon. Ojo noted that the significance of the event far more outweighs the physical presents the retirees are going to get. “We are here to say a very big thank you to you all, and recognize all the sacrifices you made while serving the Authority through the dignity of your labour” the MD also said.
The MD informed the retirees that management is working very hard to position the Authority along the line of honour, a place they would be happy to be associated with.
He noted that the welfare of staff remains a top priority to his management. He stated that the worrisome issue of succession has been tackled by management through recruitment that was strategically carried out. To achieve this, Hon. Ojo said that the Authority has to redouble its efforts to increase the Internally Generated Revenue base, to be able to pay salaries.
The Authority, he noted, pays staff salaries promptly, and was among the first agencies to implement the new minimum wage, with ad hoc workers earning about one hundred thousand naira monthly.
The MD also told the audience that Management has done much on staff medical assistance and trainings both locally and internationally.
Other notable landmarks of Management, the MD said, were: achieving the digitalization of the Authority’s operations, securing its land bank, recovering lost assets, enforcing building regulations, and stamping the Authority’s presence in all our estates.
Hon. Ojo also told the audience that management has also increased the agency’s land, by embarking on a land drive and acquisition, which saw management visiting 28 State Governments, where land has been given to the Authority.
On the Renewed Hope Housing initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he stated that FHA had kick-started the construction of the estates around the country with a groundbreaking ceremony in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, and Kaduna states. Plans he noted are underway for places like Ogun, Niger, Kebbi, Abia, and Ekiti states.
The FHA boss also informed the retirees that management has also been able to complete and commission some of the projects it inherited. Such projects, he said, were the 100 housing units at Ajoda, Ibadan, Oyo state, Express View estate 1 in Lugbe, Abuja, FHA Shopping Mall, Lugbe, Abuja. He also noted that of the kilometers of Roads in Guzape, Abuja.

For the retirees, the MD said that some of their services would be needed. According to him, ‘’as I have always said, we have not foreclosed a relationship with you, we may have to call on you whenever we need your services, as we expect you to be our worthy ambassadors out there”.

Some of the retirees that spoke applauded the management for the tremendous work they have done in transforming the Authority within a very short space of time, and pledged to contribute whatever thing they could to ensure that the Authority keeps flying high.
