Staff of FHA were on Thursday 10th   October, 2024 handed over an Upgraded staff canteen.

In a brief ceremony at the head office, the Managing Director and Chief Executive, Hon Oyetunde Ojo said that giving Staff befitting place to eat is one of the numerous initiatives to encourage hard work. He said that he was displeased with the poor situation of the canteen on assumption of duty, and decided that the Staff deserve a better place of recreation, where they can proudly take their visitors to.

Hon Ojo who reiterated the commitment of management towards better condition of service for the staff, called on everyone to put hands-on the deck to enable the Authority harness the abundant resources that are lying untapped.

The MD reeled out some of the land mark achievements of management within the past 7 months of coming on board noted that one of such moves was getting a reduction of Government's deductions from FHA'S TSA account from 50 to 30%. He announced that the digitalisation of the operations is now complete in the head office, while the zones are coming on board.

The CEO went further to note that the Authority’s charges have been reviewed upwards in reality to the prevailing rates in other organizations. He revealed that FHA has acquired a high-profile Drone that would be used it the precise enumeration of the Authority’s land and houses, a situation that would for ones enable the organisation to know the exact and accurate number of her properties.

The MD also announced that the Authority would soon commence construction of houses across the country, with the Management having acquired developable lands with title in about 28 states of the country.

Hon Ojo commended the staff for their hard work which he attributed to an improvement of the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). While stating that welfare remains a top priority, he encouraged staff to work harder for the improvement of the Authority for the sustenance of the Authority.

Earlier, the Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Mrs Ebere Alalibo in her welcome address noted that management under Hon Ojo has done much for staff welfare within the short period they assumed office. She pointed out such things like improvement in work environment, supply of stationaries, prompt payment of retiring staff benefits and medical assistance to staff as some of the things that are being enjoyed now in the Authority.

Mrs Alalibo applauded the MD's rejection of the poor condition of things in the Authority when he assumed office, a situation that made him not only to renovate the canteen, but also to upgrade its operations by setting up the committee which she chairs.

She said the only way staff could reciprocate Management's kind gesture is to work harder and strive to take ownership of the canteen by abiding by the rules guiding its operations.
