The Federal Housing Authority marked a significant milestone in its drive to modernize infrastructure and stimulate economic activity with the commissioning of FHA shopping mall, Gwarinpa 3rd Avenue, Abuja, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

At the ceremony, His Excellency, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), performed the official commissioning of the shopping mall, with the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, and the Executive Directors of the Federal Housing Authority.

In his opening address, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, described the commissioning as a symbol of a broader shift in policy and execution within the Authority.

He noted that beyond providing affordable and livable housing, the Authority’s mandate under the Renewed Hope Agenda extends to creating supportive infrastructure that fosters economic activity in FHA estates nationwide. The shopping mall, he said, is part of a blueprint to replicate similar facilities across other FHA estates to enhance residents’ quality of life and stimulate local commerce.

In his remarks, Senator George Akume paid tribute to the Managing Director, commending his visionary leadership as a visible testament to progress and purposeful governance, and unwavering commitment to repositioning the Authority for greater impact.

The commissioning stands not only as the unveiling of a commercial complex but as a statement of intent, a commitment to revitalization, economic empowerment, and a broader vision of sustainable urban development in Nigeria’s capital and beyond.
